Frequently asked questions.
How many times should students take the ACT?
There's no strict limit, but students typically take the ACT 2 to 3 times to reach their target score. This allows time for review, adjustment in study strategies, and improved performance. ACT research confirms this trend.
What are the upcoming ACT test dates and registration deadlines?
You can find the national ACT test dates for the 2025–2026 testing cycle here.
How many times should students take your ACT prep class?
Our recommendation:
One class is often all students need to learn practical strategies and improve their scores.
Some students choose to take it twice: once early to build foundational strategies and again closer to a retake to further understand and strengthen skills and confidence.
Any other helpful planning advice?
Many students start testing in the fall of junior year, then retake in the spring of senior year, providing several months of improvement opportunity.
Focus on targeted improvement between attempts - identify weak sections and adapt study strategies accordingly (Power Prep’s class is ideal for this).
For students needing individualized support, Power Prep also offers private tutoring sessions to provide more personalized instruction and focused practice.
